The City Council has two Local Development Agents to boost employment in the municipality (24/08/2010)

Responsible for handling actions that promote jobs and foster entrepreneurship

Promoting and managing activities aimed at promoting employment and entrepreneurship is the role of the two Local Development Agents who work from a month ago in the Department of Employment, Civil Protection and Development Cooperation, headed Beatriz Hontoria.

The City has incorporated the figure of Local Development Agents to become mediators for the generation of employment opportunities and boosting detecting and locating resources in the municipality that can generate jobs and promote actions that create dynamic socioeconomic development.

The first steps being taken by these two agents, Diego Sanchez and Sergio Henares, carrying a month working, are designed to get to know all the City Councillors and their projects in order to design, with the resources that are available that may boost employment, raise awareness to employers the City Council job vacancies and training courses given to students dependent on Employment.

Likewise, these agents reviewed daily official documents, such as BORM to know aid, grants and initiatives that can benefit the municipality.

Among its tasks is to design and plan projects and activities that generate economic activity, identifying underutilized resources and identify new economic activities.

Agents also contacted socioeconomic and social groups to analyze issues and create discussion platforms that generate wealth and employment in the municipality, and establish partnerships with the Employment Service programs and other local initiatives.

In addition, the Local Development Agents offer advice to entrepreneurs, technical support and help in processing grants and subsidies.

Also, these professionals to prospect of niche markets and new employment sites will use existing resources in the various neighborhoods and districts to implement new projects and collaborate with business associations to establish agreements with the City and create jobs.
