The Department of Environment and Urban Quality fifty employ unemployed people to rehabilitate green areas (11/08/2010)

A total of 46 people will be unemployed by the Department of Environment and Urban Quality has signed a collaboration agreement with the Employment Service and Training through which these people will be hired to work in the rehabilitation of areas town green.

In all four projects will be developed both in the urban and in parishes, in which three foremen used in gardening, a foreman of masonry, gardening 24 officers, four officers of plumbing, locksmith three officers, an officer of masonry, two officers of painting, carpentry two officers, three pawns and three administrative assistants.

The duration of these projects, which will invest more than a million euros, will be extended for nine months.

One project includes the regeneration of gardens at the left of Murcia, which will be undertaken by the refurbishment work on the ground, regeneration of seasonal flower beds, perennial and shrub planting and planting of pasture, replenishment of shrubs; furniture repair, and remodeling of the irrigation system.

For these actions will be required workforce of 13 workers.

The second project focuses on the regeneration of more than a half of green spaces in the city of Murcia in the different tasks to be performed as a subscriber, planting grass, planting flowers, herbicide treatments, conditioning and improving road networks irrigation.

These jobs were 18 operators.

In addition, ten people will be put in charge of municipal nurseries Malecon Cabecar and The Mayayo, rehabilitating, repairing the shade nets, expanding the irrigation network, and grouping plants by species, in order to improve production and development work done in these facilities.

Finally, five unemployed workers in the manufacture of artificial stone features such as fountains, flower pots, decorative elements ...

The SEF will be responsible for financing the labor while the City will provide the equipment and materials.

Through this program accomplishes two goals simultaneously: On one side are rehabilitated green areas of the municipality and, secondly, it allows unemployed get a job.

This agreement, which has been renewed annually, has allowed since 2004, are 544 unemployed people who have worked doing renovation work and other jobs in the green areas of the municipality
