In order to offer an alternative leisure during the summer, especially during the month of July, the Department of Education and Youth, directed by Lola Sanchez, has organized this summer a total of 46 summer schools in public schools in the municipality of Murcia, where about 3,500 students are participating.
The schools, which have been organized in collaboration with associations of parents, social services and other groups of neighborhoods and districts, are intended for children 3 to 12 years of age.
The activities are varied, but focused on complementing the training of the students, through workshops, sports, environment, swimming pool.
beach excursions and cultural visits, and provide parents a complementary education in times in which they work.
Lola Sanchez, who wanted to share with students a day of activities, this morning visited the summer schools that are taking place in public schools Federico de Arce, de Murcia, and Pintor Pedro Flores, Bacons Bridge.
In the CP Federico de Arce, students have made different outdoor activities and have subsequently gone to the pool.
Note that more than 90 children who are participating in this school are doing cooking workshops (chocolate figures, making pizzas, etc.) As well as craft workshops.
In the case of CP Pintor Pedro Flores, the day's activities have been developed in the center and were as follows:
- Dance Workshop
- Crafts
- Workshops on development of summer songs

All schools have been organized by neighborhoods or school zones coinciding different schools providing opportunities to interact with other children, thus fostering links beyond the classroom and the environment in which often moves the school.
