Accessible tram stops (19/07/2010)

Tram line 1 includes 28 stops.

Four of them are already built into the experimental line, these stops are fully accessible and not be modified.

The new 24 stops include additional accessibility criteria and the use of pavement skid surface in both dry and wet, and that does not produce glare.

The stops will communicate with the rest of the urban pedestrian road with an accessible route.

In addition, the pavement will be marked by a strip of eye contact detection.

The poles for the stops will have information in Braille.

Canopies must allow access to the side or by its center, with a minimum pitch of 90 inches.

Information on the lines and routes will be in Braille transcription and placed seats with armrests.

Vending machines will be marked on the pavement by installing a strip visual touch.

At least one of the machines have the accessibility measures for different disabilities, and must have labels in Braille.

The screens are easily readable and short messages will be in high contrast.

Vending machines are always placed in the same place, to be located easily.

Each group of phones will have at least one accessible for people with visual disabilities, hearing and physical.

The ramps to the stops will have a central handrail and two lateral tubular parts, a height of 20 inches, to prevent the fall of wheelchairs
