Diplomas for students in the project "Solidarity work ' (16/07/2010)

Project Students 'Solidarity work' today receive their diplomas after completing the training and practice in courses related to care for dependents.

This project, developed by the Department of Employment, headed Beatriz Hontoria, helps train people with difficulties in their integration into the labor market, as women, long-term unemployed over 45 years, unemployed people under 30 years, people who first job seekers, victims of abuse, etc.

They also conduct business practices in order to apply the acquired knowledge and find a job.

44 people receive their diplomas today, of which 37 have completed the training and practice fully.

Five of the students have found jobs during the completion of the course and the rest is discharged in the course for personal reasons.

These students have participated in courses in "Specialized care of people with dementia, degenerative, second edition ',' hospital nursing assistant 'and' Monitor / y of leisure for people with special needs."

They have received specific training modules as well as additional job search, basic computer and internet, combating social exclusion, etc.

They have also done internships in companies and community centers, such as Day Centres Cabezo de Torres, Barriomar and Conciliation Centre Juan Carlos I, the residence Home of Nazareth, Famdif-Cocemfe, nursing homes Ayudamur, Espinardo Playroom , Hospital San Carlos, Mesa del Castillo and La Vega, Residence El Amparo, Copedeco and Afamur.

The Council offers to people who do these courses and who receive no benefit, 10 per day as grant assistance.

They were also easy to navigate and toy library bus pass for people with children.

The students who complete the courses continue to receive the attention of the counseling service Employment of City Hall, with support and advice for job searching, which is the ultimate goal of the project.

Another 37 students received their diplomas in February, students of the first phase of the project.

66 people have completed all the training, 7 found work during the course, and 16 found employment after completion of the courses, while participating in employment orientation program of the City of Murcia.

Student Profile

About 80% of the participants are women, 27% are immigrants, and 27% had dependents.

In addition, 11% have a disability.

82.5% are unemployed for less than a year, 8% between 1 and 2 years, and 9.5% are unemployed for more than two years.

64% of participants had primary education and 31% have secondary education.

70.2% of the people doing the courses conclude the phase of training and practices, and about 60% finish the entire route.

This project was developed between 2009 and 2010, and has a budget of 455,113 euros, of which 80% is borne by the European Social Fund and 20% the city of Murcia.
