The course of the Universidad Internacional del Mar "Advanced Programming GPUs for scientific applications" will address new trends in the world of multiprocessors and supercomputers, and will release the potential of the graphics processing unit (GPU) and its advantages implementation of scientific applications.

The course will be held between 19 and 22 July in the town of Torrevieja, Alicante, part of the summer courses at the University of Murcia.

According to officials of the activity, "the proliferation in recent years has enabled GPU processing revolution in scientific applications, allowing access to a large computing capacity at a price accessible to all users."

The course attempts to analyze these new high-performance models so that scientists can fully exploit these resources.

The initiative is aimed, therefore, people interested in accelerating scientific applications, such as mathematicians, chemists, biologists and physicists, as well as final-year students of these disciplines.
