Councillor of the United Left Greens + (IU + LV) in Murcia, Esther Herguedas, has filed a motion to the full this month requesting that the next public library to be built in the town bearing the name of the Portuguese writer José Saramago, who died recently.
Herguedas has also called on his initiative that the council adopt a commitment to disseminate the cultural centers of Murcia's life and work of Saramago, whom he described as "a man of conviction whose voice was present in the battles for freedom, equality and justice. "
The mayor left the coalition pointed out that the Portuguese writer "had to leave early on their studies to work in a garage, so his training comes from time spent in the neighborhood public library, which came after workday. "
He also claims that "the spirit of José Saramago will be with us forever with their unconditional solidarity and support free and fair, his legacy of love and respect for human life and dignity will remain forever."
