Cobatillas launches a new family leisure area with picnic area and barbecues in the Miguel Ãngel Blanco Garden (27/04/2018)

José Ballesta maintains this afternoon a participatory meeting with the residents of this hamlet of the Huerta de Murcia which has about 2,500 inhabitants.

The performance, in which the City Council has invested 43,000 euros, is completed with an ornamental fountain in front of the stage, which also serves as a bench to rest, and a canine recreation area

The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Modernization and Urban Development, José Guillén, and the Councilor for Pedanías, Participación y Descentralización, Marco Antonio Fernández, visit this afternoon the new green area and family stay, with picnic area and barbecues, which the City Council has built the Miguel Ángel Blanco garden.

José Ballesta will maintain a participative encounter with the neighbors in the new family leisure space enabled in the main garden of Cobatillas, who will be able to transfer their proposals and ideas for improvement for this hamlet of the Northeast of the Huerta de Murcia (about 6 kilometers from the capital), which has about 2,500 inhabitants.

The objective of the performance has been to improve the performance of this busy garden -located on San Roque Avenue, one of the main entrances to the town-, which is used as a venue for parties and celebrations because it has a stage, shade pergola and children's areas.

In addition to these spaces, neighbors will now have a picnic area and family room to stay with modern and safe brick barbecues, concrete picnic tables, benches, trees and green areas.

The performance is completed with an ornamental fountain in front of the stage, which also serves as a bench to rest.

The City of Murcia, through the Department of Modernization and Urban Development, has invested 43,000 euros in this action.

"The green areas and gardens are the lungs of our city, essential places to achieve a cleaner environment and a better quality of life.

But they are also spaces for socialization, learning, meeting and union, in which we share family moments that accompany us throughout our lives, "highlights José Ballesta.

Pets: an exclusive place for canine recreation

The works have also meant the creation of a canine recreation area, equipped with agility games, paper, bag dispenser and drinking fountain, as well as benches and trees to provide shade.
