The PSOE takes forward proposals for improving the working conditions of firefighters and police (26/04/2018)

The Municipal Group manages to get its 10 motions approved in the Plenary, which will make it possible, among other issues, to move forward so that the agents of the SIX strengthen their professional status and the central government is urged that the local police can retire to the 60 years

The socialists also manage to recover the dance classes for minors in the neighborhood of Espiritu Santo, prepare the mote of the Segura river and the garden of Los Almendros de La Alberca and that each hamlet has at least one bank branch

The firefighters of Murcia will regularize their work situation thanks to the motion presented by the socialist spokesperson, Susana Hernández, who has received the unanimous approval of the Corporation.

"The staff of the Fire and Rescue Extinction Service (SEIS) of this municipality, whose members have been asking for the consolidation of the professional category for many years and are the only ones in the region that have not achieved it, deserves this recognition, as well as to be paid the overtime that is owed to him since last year, something that is unacceptable for this Administration ", Hernández pointed out.

The spokesperson of the PSOE also defended and also unanimously approved a motion for the resumption of dance classes for minors from Espírito Santo neighborhood, included in the Urban project and which were paralyzed on April 5, 2009. that left this activity without 40 children from this area of the municipality.

The Plenary agreed, again unanimously, to clean and maintain the margins of the Segura River as it passes through the entire municipality, not only because of the urban environment, but also to improve the bike lane and the pedestrian path. They use thousands of people.

This motion, prepared by the students of Political Science and Public Management Ana Belén Martínez and Antonio Carrillo, was defended by the socialist councilor Enrique Ayuso and praised by all groups with municipal representation.

Maite Espinosa's proposal to support Sevillan firefighters Manuel Blanco, Julio Latorre and Enrique Rodríguez for their humanitarian work resulted in an institutional declaration of the City Council defending these professionals who rescued refugees who fell into the sea on the Greek island of Lesbos, an action that paradoxically led them to be arrested under the accusation of human trafficking.

The garden of the neighborhood of Los Almendros, in La Alberca, will be rehabilitated at the request of the PSOE mayor Juan Vicente Larrosa and despite the abstention of the PP.

On the other hand, the City Council will work so that each parish has at least one bank branch, something that has been demanded today by the PSOE councilor Sebastián Peńaranda and who has found the backing of the entire Corporation, except for Cambiemos Murcia, which has abstained .

The last motion put forward by the PSOE has been for the City Council to urge the Government of Spain to expedite the procedures so that local police can retire at age 60, which has been approved unanimously in the Plenary Hall.

In addition, the PSOE has participated in the presentation of three other joint motions together with other political groups and all of them approved by the Plenary.

Thus, the Corporation has given its approval to the accession of the municipality of Murcia to the Manifesto and Decalogue "By bike, for health and against climate change";

a proposal to make the lesbian community visible so that it can be seen naturally in today's society;

and another so that the State Pact against Gender Violence has a specific budget that allows applying the necessary measures to combat this scourge.
