The City of Murcia will contract the service of maintenance of public lighting and low and medium voltage installations of municipal ownership with Electromur, whose offer has been the highest score obtained in the tender procedure.
The contract, which will have a duration of three years, extendable for another three years, will be awarded for an amount of 12.2 million euros (VAT excluded).
This has been decided by the Contracting Committee, which has required administrative documentation to be able to submit the proposal to the Governing Board, the competent body to approve the award.
The new contract includes new features that the current one did not foresee, such as the electrical maintenance of buildings and municipal buildings and public schools and the measures to increase energy efficiency, replacing existing points with others of LED technology, and reducing light pollution.
It also requires greater specialization in the maintenance of ornamental lighting, which requires a specialist in programming of lighting scenes, such as those offered by the building attached to the City Council, and in temporary facilities for events.
The awardee will have to maintain the electrical installations of public lighting, municipal premises, public schools, municipal transformation centers, and eventual activities promoted or sponsored by the City of Murcia.
Likewise, it will be in charge of maintaining public lighting of roads, pedestrian zones and gardens, carrying out inspections both day and night, conserving facilities, lighting, lines, supports and civil works, repairing faults, damages or breakages, fixing the damages suffered by the installations due to theft, vandalism, force majeure or catastrophes beyond the facilities, cleaning and control of on and off, among other actions.

On the other hand, the Contracting Committee has continued with the file of the service of conservation of bicycle lanes and bicycle infrastructures in the municipality, where three companies concur, and with the rehabilitation projects of pavilions 1 and 2 of the Cuartel de Artillery - with two offers received - and the greenway - with 40 bidders.
Also, the construction of the Municipal Children's School of La Paz will be contracted with Servimar 2008, with a budget of 693,041 € (VAT excluded), to which the Contracting Committee has agreed to request the necessary administrative documentation to be able to proceed with its adjudication.
