The Plenary Hall of the City of Murcia will be released tomorrow as an accessible space (25/04/2018)

The City of Murcia will open the 'Accessible' Plenary Hall tomorrow thanks to the installation of the auxiliary aid of the magnetic loop for the deaf people who use hearing aids with hearing aids and / or cochlear implants.

Associates of Aspanpal, Facen and Fesormu will be able to benefit from this accessibility.

It is an action, promised by the Department of Social Rights and Development Cooperation, which will facilitate the auditory accessibility in the environment, both for guidance, and for the perception of sound information of all kinds and language.

In this way, the badge has also been installed, from an ear to a T, to indicate deaf people to activate the coil of the implant or to activate the hearing aid in position T.

"This will enable communication and interpersonal relationships in spaces and situations contaminated by ambient noise or in which the distance with the interlocutor or the presence of several interlocutors hinders or prevents this communication and access to information," he explained. Conchita Ruiz.

It is a cable connected to an amplifier.

From any sound source, the audio signal goes to the amplifier that introduces an electric current into the cable and generates a magnetic field.

The magnetic field induces the telecoil of the auditory hearing aid or cochlear implant, bringing the auditory signal closer, improving the quality of the reception of the same, and solving the intelligibility problems produced by the background noise, the distance between the transmitter and receiver, and reverberation or echo.

With this initiative the City of Murcia, echoes the needs of deaf people who communicate orally and have hearing aids by installing the magnetic loop, and promoting accessibility through support resources for hearing and oral communication in spaces and public events.

The installation has been carried out by the University and Business Foundation of Madrid.
