Change Murcia asks the PP to comply with the relocation of people in a situation of residential exclusion (25/04/2018)

Murcia change has submitted a motion to be discussed in the plenary tomorrow for the Consistory to urge the Autonomous Community to meet its obligation to propose to municipalities the mechanisms to ensure the adequate rehousing of people in situations of residential exclusion, regulated in the Housing Law of the Region of Murcia, and combat energy poverty.

The councilor Margarita Guerrero explained that the regional government should have carried out this action 16 months ago, that is, three months after the entry into force of the amendment of the law after its approval in May 2016 within the the regional Assembly with the favorable votes of PSOE, Podemos and Ciudadanos.

The aforementioned law contemplates in its final disposition that "the Autonomous Community must propose to the local Administration, within three months from the coming into force, the mechanisms to guarantee adequate rehousing regulated by Law 6/2015 of Housing of the Region of Murcia ".

Guerrero has pointed out that the Murcian Executive also fails to comply with other issues included in the regulation, such as the presentation and approval, also after three months, of the documents containing the coefficients that weight the income to determine the risk situations of residential exclusion.

Likewise, it has not complied with another of the provisions of Law 10/2016, which states that the Government will develop through a regulation "the provisions included in this document regarding the mediation procedures envisaged therein, the minimum mandatory contents of the agreements between public administrations and companies supplying water, electricity and gas ".

These, together with the breach of other legal commitments, show that the Executive headed by Fernando López Miras "again ignores the normative agreements approved in the regional Assembly, parliament that, on the other hand, is what gives it its legitimacy as government, "the mayor has maintained.

For municipal training, "this is a gesture of irresponsibility of the PP", who "does not care at all the basic needs of the most disadvantaged people" and compliance with the Constitution, which recognizes the right to access a housing and a dignified life, among others.

In addition, he recalled that the PP appealed, "in his process of non-compliance with this law," two of his articles before the Constitutional Court, which has already been rejected in one part, while the other is under study.

None of the two articles has to do with the measures mentioned above.
