The PSOE claims that the Murcia Fire Service has the same professional level as the rest of the Region (24/04/2018)

The Municipal Socialist Group will defend a motion in the next plenary session in which it denounces the comparative grievance suffered by the firefighters of the Fire and Rescue Extinction Service (SEIS) of Murcia, who continue with level C2, when the Consortium of Extinction of Fire and Rescue (CEIS) and the SEIS of Cartagena are recognized as C1.

Therefore, it requires that they be recognized the same category as the rest of the Region.

The socialist spokesperson, Susana Hernandez, denounces this "bleeding situation", since they receive a productivity supplement that economically equates them to level C1, "but it is also true that, like any complement, this could be withdrawn at any time, hence that what we ask for is its consolidation, since, in addition, it would not suppose almost any additional cost for the municipal coffers ".

From the socialist group, "we understand that the tools they use, the specificity of the work they perform, the techniques they use today or, to take another example, the degree of difficulty of the selective tests to access this Service, do more that justified the consolidation of level C1 within our administration, "argues Hernández.

Also, the spokeswoman points out another particularity, "very reprehensible to the City of Murcia, in particular to the Department of Personnel", related to overtime, since the Firefighters of Murcia have without charging the November and December.

"For the answer given by Councilman José Guillén, those corresponding to November will be paid on June 1, six months after having made them, but those for December do not have a date, so we believe that they should be paid by the due month, as any official of any administration, and so we request in the motion, not only for firefighters, but for all public workers of the City of Murcia.

He also warns that "in order to provide this emergency service and not leave the neighbors of our municipality unprotected, the staff of the SIX is forced to do overtime (in addition to the CRJ of 125 annual hours) and we know that during the months of summer some of the categories of this body of emergencies come to make days of 24 hours on alternate days, assuming this a personal and family effort on the part of the staff of the SIX that we all must recognize them. "

"The question I ask the government team is when our firefighters will charge the hours they are going to begin to throw," adds Hernández, who also accuses the PP of not having taken enough places to fill vacancies since 2005, so that the extra hours are essential for this emergency service to be provided in conditions ".

In addition, remember that "something similar happens with the staff of the Local Police to which he also owes hours of last year, and I insist that we are talking about essential services for the safety of Murcia and Murcia, which, in order to To borrow, they need extra hours from these municipal workers, whom we thank for their commitment to their neighbors, which contrasts with the lack of responsibility of the government team, which does not know how to plan or anticipate security needs.
