Murcia change will take to the ordinary plenary next Thursday a proposal for the City of Murcia, in collaboration with associations and feminist groups of the municipality, install at the municipal parties 'violet points', ie safe spaces to which women can go to report any type of sexual assault or ask for help in the face of abuse or discrimination.

The municipal training, through the Councilor Margarita Guerrero, explained that many municipalities in the country, such as Cartagena in its Carthaginians and Romans, have enabled this type of space in which women are helped to detect situations of harassment or aggression, vigilance work is done to accompany the victim and help raise awareness among the public.

The initiative also proposes that the Consistory put at the disposal of the municipal boards of neighborhoods and districts both the advice and the necessary materials so that they can also install 'Violet Points' in their popular festivals.

This type of space, in the opinion of Cambiemos Murcia, should be directed by people who know the protocols that should be followed in these cases, in collaboration with Civil Protection and Local Police.

"Verbal, physical aggressions, intimidation, personal harassment and through social networks, abuses and, in the most extreme case, femicides such as the one of April 11 in Murcia are unfortunately common in our society, and in this situation, the Public Administrations they have the duty to react with all the resources within their reach, "Guerrero said.

In addition, the II Plan of Equality of the City of Murcia, approved at the Plenary last month, includes among its objectives the need to eradicate violence against women, in all its forms, at the municipal level, through awareness of violence against women, the prevention of situations of gender violence and the anticipation in the detection of these cases.
