Social Rights allocates more than € 137,000 for socio-labor integration and the fight against social exclusion (20/04/2018)

The Department of Social Rights and Development Cooperation, directed by Conchita Ruiz, has raised several matters of social interest to the Governing Board for approval.

Thus, this Friday three projects of socio-labor integration and fight against the social exclusion of immigrants have been approved.

First, and within the line of collaboration with the Murcia Acoge Association for the reception of immigrant men and women in a situation of convalescence, 100,000 euros will be allocated to meet the social and health needs of these people that, being in a period of convalescence, they do not have the resources with which to respond to their situation of need, and without a home in which to carry out recovery and convalescence.

The specific resource currently responds to a social-health project of attention to convalescent immigrant people through two shelters, with capacity to attend 30 people annually.

The objective is to help the recovery of health in a broad sense and the social promotion of immigrants in a situation of convalescence.

To this are added other secondary objectives such as housing maintenance to the needs of the people in the shelter, facilitating the accommodation and maintenance of these and their integral and individual attention, facilitating their medical and / or psychological care, conducting training workshops or training.

Columbares Association

But it is not the only project that has received the approval today, as the City of Murcia, within the collaboration maintained with the Columbares Association, will allocate 27,500 euros to cover the basic needs of the immigrant population lacking resources, with serious problems of social exclusion, while their situation of poverty adds to their status as immigrants.

In this case, a project is attended through which beneficiaries are provided, during 2018, with accommodation, food, cleaning and hygiene products, access to the health system, legal advice, training, psycho-social care, mediation and Accompaniment through a shelter "Los Claveles" located in El Palmar, with capacity to serve 5 people.

Finally, the Governing Board has approved a game of 9,500 euros for, during the current year, to collaborate with the community intervention program of the CMSS "Ciudad de Murcia".

This space has as a priority function to address the situations of need and risk of social exclusion that occur in the different neighborhoods that are within its scope of action.

For this reason, this program has been proposed from its Community Intervention Area, whose purpose is to address these situations through specific actions aimed at the population.

The main objective is to promote awareness in the community about their needs, their situation and their possibilities of change through the different projects.

The direct beneficiaries of these activities are approximately 100 adults but, taking into account the topics that are dealt with and, as a consequence of the information and the changes that are generated, it also has an impact on the families and the neighborhood.
