Scientific disseminators from all over Spain will participate from this Thursday at the ComCiRed 2018 congress, hosted by the UGR (19/04/2018)

The Knights Hall XXIV of the Palace of the Madraza of the University of Granada will be the headquarters of ComCiRed 2018 (Comunicar Ciencia en Red), a national meeting directed to the Units of Scientific Culture and Innovation (UCC + i) organized by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) in collaboration with the UGR.

ComCiRed begins on Thursday, April 19, starting at 10:00 am with the inaugural lecture "Outreach in the Science Park" by Ernesto Páramo, director of the Science Park of Granada.

At 11:00 hours, the rector of the University of Granada, Pilar Aranda, and the general director of FECYT, Paloma Domingo, will present this meeting, whose activities will take place on the 19th and 20th of April.

The ComCiRed 2018 program contains meetings, exchange of experiences and good practices, as well as workshops and conferences in the field of scientific dissemination.

Around 80 people have registered with ComCiRed, which is celebrating its ninth edition in Granada.

During the event, attendees will choose the most outstanding project of a UCC + i during 2017.

Among the guests will also Pigalle Tavakkoli, member of Guerrilla Science, a group of popularizers who explore new formats to bring science to all audiences, with live experiences that entertain, inspire, challenge and surprise.

Training also plays an important role in ComCiRed.

The workshops offered in this edition will be about how to combat post-truth in social networks and how to approach the gender perspective in scientific communication.

On the second day, the model for scientific communication and dissemination of the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), the project 'Streets of science' of FECYT and the Hi Score Science project will be presented.

Likewise, the Hypatia project will be presented along the lines of the gender perspective in scientific dissemination activities and the challenges of the university and citizen innovation.
