The Senior's Classroom of the University of Murcia celebrates its 20th anniversary and its IV Cultural Week revolves around this event.
The activities began on Tuesday at a ceremony attended by the rector José Luján with the presentation of the book 'Training programs for the elderly' of the UMU: XX years of the Senior Classroom 'in which Sonia Madrid Cánovas, vice chancellor of Studies;
María del Mar Albero, director of the Senior Classroom;
Juan Benito, deputy director;
and Antonio Martínez Faura, head of the Permanent Training Service.
After the presentation took place the round table 'The teaching experience in the Senior Classroom'.
Later, students from the classroom represented the theater play Abecedario written by the Murcian author Natalia Yurena Rodríguez and directed by Encarna Illán.
This afternoon the activities will continue with the celebration of the round table Being a senior student in the UM, moderated by Francisca Moya.
It will be at 6:00 pm in the Paraninfo of La Merced.
At 19.15 there will be a theatrical performance of Madame Verdux by the association Rector Sabater.
The work, by Adrián Ortega, is directed by Manuel Ortín.
The Senior Classroom gives continuous training to almost six hundred students.
