Now Murcia asks Ballesta for the works of the old Carmen school and for the intended use of the plant for the residents of the neighborhood (16/04/2018)

- The works for the Museum of the Archicofradía de la Sangre require the permits or licenses required according to the urban and sectoral regulations, taking into account that the building is listed in the PECHA (Special Plan of the Historic-Artistic Center) with a degree of protection 2.

- The agreement of cession on the part of the City council of the old school of the Carmen to the 'coloraos' it gathers that "the first one is at municipal disposal for other socio-cultural uses, for what the Archconfraternity must take into account in its project of Museum access to the first floor independently "

NOW MURCIA wants to know if the works that are being carried out in the old college of Carmen have the necessary permits and processing, due to some possible anomalies that it has detected.

For this reason, the municipal training has been directed in writing to Ballesta to receive all information about this work, as well as about the intended use for the 1st floor of the building, destined, as agreed, to the needs of the residents of the neighborhood from Carmen.

The councilor Alicia Morales recalls that in the agreement of cession between the City Council and the Archconfraternity of the Blood it is indicated that "it is not possible to carry out in the space any type of work or performance without the express prior authorization of the City Council, without prejudice to the permits or licenses that are required according to the urban and sectoral regulations, for which it must be taken into account that the building is cataloged in the PECHA (Special Plan of the Historic-Artistic Center) with a degree of protection 2 ".

Therefore, now Murcia has asked the councilors involved copy of the express authorization of the City Council prior to the start of the works, as well as the work license granted and the permits and licenses referred to in the agreement.

In this sense, the vowel of Now Murcia in the municipal council of El Carmen, Rafa Ródenas, affirms that "neither in the building that is the object of the works nor in its surroundings there is an indicative sign of said actions, nor of the works license and its file number, the date of grant, or the date of start and end of the works ".

On the other hand, Ródenas points out that the provisions of the agreement of cession of the old school of the Carmen gather that "the first floor of the architect architect Pedro Cerdán is at municipal disposal for other socio-cultural uses, for which the Archconfraternity must take into account in his Museum project access to the first floor independently. "

In this sense, Now Murcia has asked the Councilor for Heritage, Rafa Gómez, information on the intended uses and the arrangement of the spaces this plant.

The municipal training has also requested information on the works carried out or that are being carried out on the first floor of the building and a copy of the municipal reports, as well as information on the independent access to the first floor.

Morales concludes that "works in buildings with special protection have to be closely supervised and authorized by municipal technicians." In our line of concern for heritage, we want to see that everything is being done properly and know what project the City Council has to the first floor. "
