Technology experts meet at the City Council to learn about the solutions and technologies guide for smart cities of the Cluster Citizem (16/04/2018)

The Councilor for Modernization of the Administration and Urban Development, José Guillén, inaugurated this morning the presentation day of the guide of solutions and technologies for smart cities of Citizem Cluster, which was held in the Assembly Hall of the building attached to the City Council

Citizem is a group of private and public organizations that works for the modernization and sustainability of the municipalities from different areas: business, research, political, technical, entrepreneurial, normative, etc.

In this way, they work to promote and develop actions that contribute to maintaining the Region at the forefront of competitiveness, inclusion and efficiency in the era of digitalization and awareness of the use of resources.

The guide is an entrepreneurial initiative that aims to provide those responsible for the intelligent, inclusive and sustainable development of the municipalities with an easy and close knowledge of the existing solutions and developments in the Murcia Region, including a global proposal of solutions and products adapted to reality. of the Territory Region, presented in a structured, concise and agile way to increase the value it offers as a support document in the design and implementation of the smart strategies of each local or regional entity.

The councilor explained during his speech that "the City of Murcia is making a continuous effort to establish the city of Murcia as a reference Smart City, always having the objective that it must be the citizens who experience the improvement in quality of life, innovation and improvement in the management of the services of the city ".

Thus, he recalled that "on October 16, 2015 the Governing Board of the City of Murcia approved its Strategic Plan Murcia Smart City (Smart Murcia) for the implementation of an integrative management model that optimizes the different municipal services and resources, where the key lies in orienting each and every one of the areas towards the 'Smart' model, so that the citizen does not conceive a network of watertight and independent services, but rather an open, interconnected, close and agile city council, oriented to his needs of the day to day".

Guillén has continued explaining that "as our Mayor says, the project of our intelligent city is not only technological but is deeply humanistic." We always define this change of the traditional communication paradigm "Administración - Ciudadano" as

a person = a town hall ".

"It is the City Council who must seek the citizen to establish a bidirectional relationship and provide each one, in each moment, context and situation, what they want according to the type of interaction that the citizen needs", the mayor pointed.

Guillén also recalled that "the City of Murcia attended the call of the Public Business Entity Red.es, attached to the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, granting aid for the development of smart cities program of the Digital Agenda for Spain with the project 'MiMurcia: Your Smart, Close, Open and Innovative City Council', together with a total of 111 projects from all over Spain This project was selected as the most ambitious MiMurcia with a budget of almost 8 million euros (7,999) .018.82 €), of which 31% comes from municipal financing and the rest from FEDER Funds. "

"In parallel actions have been promoted to improve the communications infrastructure and the preparation of the CEUS room (Single Monitoring Center) of the MiMurcia project that will be located in the municipal building of Abenarabi Avenue, and, recently, the City Council has been distinguished with the 2017 enerTIC national award for the best project in the e-government category with MiMurcia imposing itself against other finalist candidates "

Guillén has emphasized that "thanks to the collaboration with the University of Murcia has deployed a Smart City platform for pilot tests, interoperando with several proprietary information systems or concessionaire companies: Urban buses, Murcia Tramway, MuyBici Aparcabicis, Traffic information, Information on the generation of solar energy in municipal buildings, Information on energy consumption of municipal buildings, Information on the availability of parking spaces "

About the guide presented today, the councilor stressed that "it brings together a catalog of solutions of which some are already part of the experience of the smart city of Murcia or are included in our MiMurcia project, such as, for example, to cite some, citizen participation platforms, transparency and open data portals, broadcast of sessions of the Plenary Session of the City Council, deployment of broadband networks and private networks with different technologies, intelligent irrigation management systems for parks and gardens, control lighting, smart buildings, occupation of waste containers, video surveillance and video analytics, people counting and detection of objects, recharging points for electric vehicles, accessibility and usability of Web sites, etc. "
