Sangonera la Verde improves its mobility with the new access roundabout to Torreguil where 8,000 vehicles travel daily (10/04/2018)

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, visited this morning the hamlet of Sangonera la Verde accompanied by residents of the town and the councilors of Pedanías, Participation and Decentralization, Infrastructure, Public Works and Services, and Urban Planning, Environment, Agua y Huerta, Marco Antonio Fernández, Rebeca Pérez and Antonio Navarro.

The new access roundabout to Torreguil, as well as the projects promoted by the City Council in the district, among them, the extension of the cemetery, the new study hall or the works of the asphalt operation were the main objectives of the route.

In the first place, Ballesta, together with the general secretary of the Ministry of the Presidency and Development, Yolanda Muñoz, inaugurated the new roundabout that gives access to the Torreguil Urbanization, on the RM-603 Murcia-Mazarrón highway.

It is a point where around 8,000 vehicles transit daily, which will significantly improve their safety and accessibility conditions when driving on this road.

The new roundabout, built by the Ministry of the Presidency and Development, now has an outer diameter of 38 meters and an interior diameter of 20 meters, as well as a road six meters wide, with both external and internal verges, 1 and 2 meters of width respectively.

The firm of the roundabout is composed of 40 centimeters of artificial gravel, ten centimeters of intermediate layer and other six of layer of rolling, and also counts on new lighting, thanks to the installation of 12 columns of 9 meters of height with luminarias type led , to improve night driving.

"We are facing the resolution of a demand from the residents of the area.

It was important to improve the road safety of this intersection and properly order access, for which, in addition to the creation of the new roundabout, the horizontal, vertical and beaconing signs have been renewed, "the mayor explained.

Tour of Sangonera la Verde

After the inauguration, José Ballesta made a tour of Sangonera la Verde, accompanied by neighbors.

One of the places of interest was the Main Street and the People's Square, where the first phase of the collector has been executed, which has a pipeline of 1,000 mm in diameter up to the azarbe de la Cota, with an investment of € 352,000.

To this connection will be added, in a second phase, the construction of a rolling tank in the Reguerón with a budget of € 565,000, which will substantially improve the drainage of Sangonera la Verde until the last phase of connection of the hazard is executed. Level up the Reguerón.

In addition, it has been possible to verify the works carried out in the main artery, the Calle Mayor, at the end of February, within the 'Operation Asphalt' that is being carried out in the districts of the municipality, where these works allow to improve the conditions of numbers roads and highways.

In this case, 3,600 meters of Camino del Palmeral have been paved.

Municipal cemetery extension

José Ballesta also reviewed the status of the expansion process of the Sangonera la Verde municipal cemetery, for which an expropriation proceeding is underway.

To do this, next week the owners of the plot are quoted to record the occupation and payment, at which point the land will become municipal property.

The Department of Education, Relations with Universities and Heritage will be responsible for processing for the subsequent assignment to the parish of the parish, dependent on the Diocese of Cartagena, to begin the expansion work.

New study room

Finally, mayor, councilors and neighbors visited the study hall, dependent on the RMBM.

It is a space with an area of ​​81.54 m2 with a maximum capacity of 44 students.

The access is done through a proximity card -which can be requested at www.salasestudio.rmbm.org- configured by the Integrated Internet Access Management System (SICAi), which also controls lighting, air conditioning, intrusion alarms and fire, antipanic system and closed circuit television, all elements connected to a central reception.

The investment made in the reform works carried out by the Department of Education, amounts to € 349,000, to which are added € 16,000 corresponding to the equipment and electronics of the study room.
