The 'MiMurcia' project will star in the 4th Smart Cities Congress (08/04/2018)

Murcia and his project 'MiMurcia' will be the protagonists of a presentation of the IV Congress of Smart Cities that will be held on May 30 and 31 at La Nave Space in Madrid and attended by more than 500 people last year.

The Councilor for Modernization of Administration and Urban Development, José Guillén, explained that "in this way, this project continues to be a national and international benchmark and an example to follow in other cities"

The aim is to create a new smart city model to encompass the fundamental areas of citizen participation, social innovation and user service, open government, sustainable mobility and effective management of public resources and services, priority areas that show a focus direct towards the citizens, who are the true protagonists of the smart or intelligent development model.

MiMurcia was born with the aim of bringing the City Council closer to the public by taking advantage of the advances and continuous technological progress, as well as the benefits offered by ICTs, creating a more efficient public administration.

We must remember that the project 'MiMurcia: Your Intelligent, Close, Open and Innovative City Council' was selected in the call of the Red.es Business Public Entity, to grant aid for the development of the Smart Cities program of the Digital Agenda for Spain with a total project budget amounting to € 7,999,018.82, of which 31% comes from municipal financing and the rest from FEDER Funds.

The councilor explained that "MiMurcia is an ambitious project that aims to raise the city of Murcia to smart cities, achieving an efficient management of its resources, in turn reducing its carbon footprint and improving the environment. revolution at various levels within the city: renewing and improving the different communication channels between City Council and citizen, allowing proactive communication by the former, making more efficient use of the city's resources by both the local administration and by the citizens themselves, whether in the case of lighting systems, such as the use of water for irrigation, as well as improving the quality of life conditions in the city center that promotes communication, cooperation, participation and innovation within it. "
