The city of Murcia will receive this afternoon, from 19:00 hours, the Sardine for the start of the scheduled events within the Festival of International Tourist Interest of the Burial of the Sardine.
On this occasion will come from San Pedro del Pinatar, municipality chosen by the Sardinera Association of Murcia as "Town Hall of Arrival of the Sardine 2018".
This year he will do it in a boat by water, through the Segura River, crossing the space that separates the Manterola Pasarela to the Molinos del Río.
Later, at 8:00 pm, the Parade of the Arrival of the Sardine will take place from Gutiérrez Mellado Avenue, passing by Jaime I, Fuensanta Square, Gran Vía and Plaza Martínez Tornel, reaching the Town Hall.
There, around 22:30 hours, the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, Visitation Martinez, will deliver the Sardine to the Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, and this, the president of the Sardinera Association, José Antonio Sánchez.
Encounter with Sardines
But this is not the only act today, as the councilors of Commerce, Maruja Pelegrin, and Social Rights and Development Cooperation, Conchita Ruiz, attended this morning the traditional 'Encuentro de Sardinillas', which this year celebrated its XI edition in the Sardinero Space of the Artillery Barracks.
We must remember that this is a meeting featuring minors under the protection of the Autonomous Community and thanks to the collaboration between the Sardinera Group, the Murcia City Council and the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities.
At the party, in addition to members of the sardineros groups, the Counselor, Violante Tomás, Doña Sardina, Alicia Hernández and the Big Fish, Alfonso López Rueda.
As is tradition, the children have first enjoyed musical performances and have subsequently paraded with costumes simulating the own sardiner groups.
An act that has concluded with the delivery of a crowd and toys to the children, highlighting "the solidary side of the party, and distributing smiles and happiness for all, which is the magic and the essence of the Burial of the Sardine", has Featured Conchita Ruiz.
