[Bernardo Cascales, former Vice Chancellor of Coordination and Internationalization of the University of Murcia)

This morning has died Bernardo Cascales, professor of Mathematical Analysis of the UMU and former Vice-rector of Coordination and Internationalization of the team of Orihuela, in which he remained more than three years, until the end of July of 2017.

With Cascales the vicerrector of the almost perennial smile leaves, affable conversationalist who always wanted to be remembered among his companions as a close person.

And so it was, endearing and close, always, with those around him.

Born in Murcia in 1958, married and with three children, he had extensive teaching, management and research experience.

He was visiting professor at the Universities of Columbia and Ohaio and editor of several research journals.

In his mandate as Vice Chancellor, the area of ​​International Relations exceeded 1500 mobility programs, reaching 700 students, as well as 25 actions in different international project frameworks.

The flags of the Rectorate and other institutional buildings wave at half-mast for his death.

The wake is in the Tanatorio de San Roque (Alcantarilla).

The funeral will take place tomorrow, April 6, at 5:30 p.m. in the parish church of San Roque in Alcantarilla (C / San José, 5).
