The Huertana bicycle route will be the anticipation of the World Bicycle Day in Murcia (02/04/2018)

This Wednesday a 10-kilometer orchard bicycle route will be celebrated to commemorate the World Bicycle Day, which is celebrated on April 19.

The itinerary, which will start at 11 am, will be made from the Glorieta and will end with the visit and invitation in a barrack.

This low difficulty route will be a bicycle ride through the Huertan traditions and will last approximately three hours.

This initiative, which has the collaboration of the Peñas Huertanas Federation, aims to promote the use of bicycles as a means of transport and draw attention to their benefits for both health and sustainable mobility, while a journey through of the typical elements of the garden.

The route will have four stops:

Red Cross Square, to see the breeding of the silkworm in the Peña de La Seda.

Plaza Circular, to contemplate the wheel of 12 meters high and the huertano environment along with the visit to the Peña El Pimentón where there will be a demonstration of how the paprika was made in the past.

Garden of the Salitre, to see the Monument to the Huertano.

The Malecón, where you will see the monument to the Huertana Spring and the huertana house of the Peña Los Huertanos and in which you will also enjoy a meal.

The itinerary will begin at the Glorieta de España, continuing through the Plaza de la Cruz Roja, Calle Apostles, Plaza Cardenal Belluga, Plaza Cetina, Calle Saavedra Fajardo, Avda. Rector José Loustau, Constitution Garden, Avda. De la Fama, Avda Juan de Borbón, Jardin de las Tres Copas, Avda. Marina Española, Avda. Príncipe de Asturias, Avda. De los Pinos, Fofó Park, Avda. General Primo de Rivera, Plaza Circular, Calle Escultor Roque López, Avda. La Libertad, Condestable Street, Salitre Garden, Acisclo Díaz Street, Silk Garden, Huerto Pomares Street, Calle Muralla and Huerto del Malecón.

The route ends with a meal in a barrack that is subsidized by the Peñas Huertanas Federation and will cost € 3.
