Local Police establishes a complete security device for the Spring Festival (01/04/2018)

The Department of Traffic and Public Safety has established a complete security and traffic device for the Spring Festival days.

The biggest deployment will be on the day of the Bando and Burial of the Sardine since 100% of the workforce will be active.

During the morning of the Bando 160 agents will serve, a figure that will increase to 240 policemen during the afternoon parade.

The morning of the Burial the device will be composed of 140 agents and, in the afternoon, it will double up to 250.

The Local Police will restrict traffic in the center of the city to heavy vehicles of more than 3,500 kilos on the most crowded days of the Spring Festival, specifically, the day of the Bando de la Huerta, the Battle of the Flowers, the arrival of the Sardine and the Burial of the Sardine.

Traffic will be restricted in the center to vehicles of 3,500 kilos on the mentioned days, with the exception of public transport, which can circulate normally.

In addition, during the entire festive period street safety will be reinforced with the parking of vehicles and the installation of fixed elements in certain access points and specific points of the city, which limit itineraries to road traffic, as well as other measures that will not be done public for security reasons.

The day before the Bando will proceed to signal with portable discs forbidden parking from 00.00 hours on April 18, 2017, all streets through which runs the parade.

A thorough examination of the route will be carried out, removing any obstacles that may hinder the parade, such as aerial cables, traffic lights, illuminated signs, containers, etc.

For the total closure of the itinerary, traffic cutting points will be established, where police vehicles will be used with information panels in El Rollo, down the highway with c / Juan de la Cierva and Puente Hospital Infante, in order to inform the citizen and to prevent vehicles from accessing the itinerary of the parade and, at the same time, channel traffic through alternative routes provided for that purpose.

These alternative routes are:

SOUTH AREA: For the displacements that must be made from East to West and vice versa, the route of connection between Ronda Oeste and Ronda Sur is recommended;

and an alternative route will be established in both directions, which will run through Juan de la Cierva Engineer Plaza, C / Industria, C / Pintor P. Flores, C / Pintor Almela Costa and Ronda Sur.

The traffic coming from Avda. Ciudad de Almería will be diverted to Ronda Oeste.

In any case, it is advisable to use the parking deterrents.

NORTH AREA: The deviation of connection between East and West in the North will be, in both directions of circulation, the following: Ronda de Levante, Avda. Don Juan de Borbón, C / Abenarabi, Avda. Juan Carlos 1st, Avda. de los Pinos, Avda. Miguel de Cervantes, Plaza de Castilla, Ronda Oeste and San Antón;

and, as another possibility, Ronda de Levante, Avda. Don Juan de Borbón, C / Abenarabi, Avda. Juan Carlos 1st, Pza. Circular, Primo de Rivera, Ronda Norte.

For the North-South displacements you can use the Ronda Oeste, Ronda Norte, Avda. Primo de Rivera, Plaza Circular, Avenida Juan Carlos 1st, Abenarabi Street, Don Juan de Borbón Avenue, Ronda de Levante, 1 .º de Mayo and Ronda Sur.

It is advisable to use the parking deterrents.

In addition, service will be established in 19 emergency exits, in order to allow the rapid evacuation of participants or spectators of the parade, as well as facilitate access of emergency vehicles.

For these outings will be assisted by members of Civil Protection.

The special security device of the City of Murcia will be developed in collaboration with the State Security Forces (National Police and Civil Guard), as well as with the Civil Defense personnel and volunteers and the Murcia Fire Department.

In addition, they will communicate daily through the Twitter account of the Local Police of Murcia (@MurciaPolicia) the steps established to cross to both sides during the development of the various acts, which will also be duly marked on the public road to its easy identification

The daily and updated information 24 hours that the Local Police will offer in this network will include the itineraries, with the cutting schedules of the affected streets.
