The Governing Board of the City of Murcia has given the green light to the list of administrative clauses for contracting through open procedure of organizing service Summer Camps and Linguistic Stays organized by the Youth Service of the Department of Infrastructure, Works and Public Services directed by Rebeca Pérez.
In total, the City of Murcia will allocate 350,000 euros and, for the first time, the contract is made for one year, renewable to another year.
As for the summer camps, the council will invest 137,500 euros for 250 places aimed at young people between 12 and 15 years.
The 5 camps of 50 places each, will be developed between July 1 and July 31, and will deal with the following topics.
Lot 1: multi-adventure camp, first half of July.
Lot 2: Nautical camp with English, first half of July.
Lot 3: nature camp with English, first half of July.
Lot 4: multi-adventure camp, second half of July.
Lot 5: Nautical camp with English, second half of July.
The multi-adventure camp has a specific program of activities that include the discovery of the environment and that must also contain a minimum of five adventure activities such as rafting, canyoning, canoeing, hiking, climbing, speleology, horse riding.
On the other hand, in camps with English a minimum of 30 hours will be devoted to programs to improve the knowledge of the English language through the development of pedagogical and recreational activities, in an environment of coexistence away from the school classroom.
In addition to the specific activities of each of the camps, complementary activities will be developed, common to all, consisting of excursions to visit points of cultural interest, workshops and evening evenings.
Language stays
Regarding the Linguistic Stays in the British Islands, the investment of 215,000 euros stands out, from which 125 young people born between 1993 and 2003 will benefit, attending specialized classes for learning and practicing the English language and carrying out complementary activities.
These stays will include a course with a minimum of 45 teaching hours, which will be awarded academic certificate of participation, accommodation and full board in British families, with the aim of promoting greater linguistic immersion and a program of extra-lecture activities, such as excursions, visits to museums and places of interest, etc.
"Experience shows that in order to obtain a good knowledge of other languages ​​it is convenient to spend some time in the country of the studied language, these stays are the ideal complement to achieve a better fluency in the language studied, while having a great educational value in putting young people in contact with other cultures, "said Rebeca Pérez.
The stays will take place between July 1 and August 31, 2018, with 75 places for the month of July and 50 for the month of August.
The trip will include accommodation and full board, which must necessarily be with British families.
