The Municipal Socialist Group today warned the government team that "with red carpets at Christmas and fare outlet fairs traditional trade is not encouraged and is seen by the poor balance of the last campaign of sales made by the same merchants", explains Councilman Sebastián Peñaranda.

Precisely, he says "missing a continuous dynamic program with the involvement of different councils, so that citizens of all ages and tastes enjoy leisure and shopping in Murcia, because otherwise continue to opt for large surfaces."

In this regard, Peñaranda recalls that "traditional trade has always been for the PP a maria, proof of this is its policy of favoring shopping centers during the past 20 years, while that of our neighborhoods is abandoned almost to its fate."

In this sense, he points out that small businesses generate a higher quality job compared to large stores.

The council believes that a dynamic program is urgently needed to make Murcia an attractive space to buy and to improve parking, promote collaborative trade to apply discounts or reduce public transport, and it is essential to develop measures to boost tourism and Incorporate local development agents that support merchants.

Therefore, calls for convening a Local Trade Council, which is a socialist proposal and has met this morning to deal with aid to establishments affected by the burying of roads, in order to be treated monographically the measures that traditional trade can boost.
