More than 1,500 people and 41 comparsas will participate next Sunday at the Great Rincón de Seca Carnival Parade (27/02/2018)

The councilmen Jesus Pacheco and Rebeca Perez presented this morning the calendar of activities of the Rincón de Seca Carnival, considered the last carnival in Spain.

It is a young festival, but year after year it has grown to position itself as one of the most multitudinous carnivals, becoming a showcase of light, fantasy and color.

"Waiting until this weekend to enjoy a Carnival as special as Rincón de Seca does nothing but increase the interest and enthusiasm of participants and visitors." Three days that bring together thousands of people who enjoy originality and creativity of the comparsas and their themes, as well as the floats that give color to their parades ", explained Jesús Pacheco.

The activities will start on Friday, March 2, "Day of our children and our elders", with the celebration of the children's parade, with games and snacks for the little ones and a carnival of the third age at night.

On Saturday, March 3, "The day of the dance" will be held the traditional choreography competition, this year dedicated to the show, and at night a traditional event such as the Parade of Flags, formed by representatives of all groups that will parade the next day.

When arriving at the garden, the carnival will pronounce their farewell speech of 2017 and the fireworks will give way to the party of the comparsas, music and dance.

Finally, the great day of the carnival will be Sunday 4, with the great Carnival parade that will tour the streets from 5:00 pm.

The work of the Culture and Celebration Association of Rincon de Seca has worked throughout 2017 to ensure that, this year, the parade between the cabecera with comparsas, associations and invited groups, plus the comparsas in competition, managed to gather more than 1,500 people, surpassing 40 comparsas.

It should be noted that last year more than 2,500 visitors arrived from different parts of the Region, so this year has been provided with 1,000 free seats for all spectators, in Hernández Muñoz street.

"Not all the big groups can coincide during the month of February, since in previous dates they are distributed in the different parades of the Region, which means that until these parties we have not been able to enjoy in a single parade the great level of all the groups together, "said Rebeca Pérez.

Another of the great news is that the Murcian singer Salva Ortega has made a song dedicated to this carnival, which can be downloaded from social networks or on YouTube and that already sounds very strong in Rincón de Seca.
