The municipal groups of PSOE, now Murcia, Cambiemos Murcia and the non-attached councilor, Javier Trigueros, have submitted a motion to the plenary on Thursday to request the "immediate stoppage" of the construction of the pedestrian walkway at the level of Santiago the Major as long as the doubts about the safety of this infrastructure do not dissipate.

Signatory formations, which defend the level crossing to ensure the permeability of the area, have reminded that there is a report commissioned by the ProSoterramiento Platform to experts in the field that indicates that the runway presents irregularities that make the assembly lack of the minimum safety measures and technical conditions, in addition to the fact that no geological studies have been carried out in the field.

This report, which the Platform has raised to the Office of the Prosecutor, has generated a situation of uncertainty among the neighbors "that must be resolved".

The groups have also demanded the government team to comply with the motion passed last September in which the Corporation said that the burying of the roads is an unrenounceable need, and to prioritize these works the AVE has to stay at Beniel station .

They have also criticized the fact that the president of ADIF, Juan Bravo, has not complied with his word of warning the neighbors and the political forces represented at the City Council of the installation of the pedestrian walkway.

In fact, "since the last meeting of the AVE Monitoring Commission, on November 16 of last year, the municipal groups have not been informed about the plans or scheduling of the works, nor the rest of the proceedings".

In addition, the opposition has reported that it has not received information from the central government about the request by which the European Commission warned of the need to review the environmental impact study before the modification of the project of the arrival of the AVE on surface to the municipality.
