The City of Murcia, along with the concessionaire STV Gestión, continues to improve and embellish what is known as Plaza de la Universidad.
For this, the Department of Modernization of the Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, directed by José Guillén, is working on the plantation, in buried pots, of a species known as 'Pyrostegia venusta', "which has numerous advantages such as majesty of its orange flowers and its adaptation to the environment.One of its peculiarities is that it shows all its spectacular color when other species do not give any type of flower, being this especially in late autumn and early January ", says the mayor of Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation, José Guillén.
The objective of this plantation is to get it to slide, progressively, from the top to cover as a mantle a large part of the pergola that crowns the plaza of the University.
Also, to ensure that the plant (also known as 'Winter Bignonia') grows without any problem has been equipped with a system of water drainage channels, so that the plant is integrated without causing any problems.
The City Council continues working for the full integration of the different green spaces in the daily life of the Murcians who pass through this area every day, while embellishing the Plaza de la Universidad.
