The opposition asks the City Council to support the manifestation of the White Tide on March 1 (16/02/2018)

They affirm that "our Consistory has the legitimacy to demand from the competent administrations sufficient health resources to pay attention to conditions, and the duty to support the just claims of professionals and patients"

The municipal groups of PSOE, Ciudadanos, Ahora Murcia and Cambiemos Murcia have submitted a motion to the Plenary asking that the City Council support the demonstration that the citizen platform Marea Blanca has convened for next March 1.

The White Tide is made up of more than fifty groups of health professionals, trade unions, user and patient associations, and political groups.

Opposition groups point out that "our City Council has to ensure that its neighbors have access to quality health resources on an equal footing", in addition to having the legitimacy "to demand from competent administrations sufficient health resources to provide attention in conditions to its neighbors, and the duty to support the just claims of professionals and patients. "

The Marea Blanca citizen platform is mobilized in the face of the deterioration of public health that we are living in our Region, caused by cuts and the lack of effective planning, and demands a quality public health and a sustainable health system that has one of its priorities to end social inequalities in health.

Among the demands of the groups that make up the white tide are the implementation of effective measures to end the long waiting lists and the saturation of hospitals and other health centers;

the bet decided by the Primary Attention;

well-planned and efficient management of own resources, prioritizing them against referrals to private health centers;

a greater investment in human resources that ends with the reductions of staff and with precarious work;

the creation of out-of-hospital emergencies (pediatric emergencies and SUAPs);

and the elimination of the copayment for pensioners and families in a vulnerable situation.
