The councilman of Sports and Health, Felipe Coello and the president of the Association for people with Down Syndrome (Assido), Juan Carlos Sánchez, have presented the sixth edition of the race and popular march for people with Down Syndrome that will take place on next Sunday March 4 in the promenade and garden of El Malecón.

The race, which will start at 10 am, serves to celebrate the World Day of People with Down Syndrome that is commemorated on March 21, under the slogan 'No matter your rhythm, the important thing is to get there'.

All Murcia are invited to participate in this race whose registration costs between 3 and 9 euros.

The collection obtained from the inscriptions and the 'dorsal zero' of all those who want to collaborate, will be used to provide support to people with Down syndrome and intellectual disability to advance their social inclusion.

There are different categories according to the ages with different distances in each case, from the 75 meters to the 8,700 meters that the participants in the Absolute Race will travel.

There is also a Family Solidarity March for those who simply want to walk to support the inclusion of people with Down syndrome with their family and friends.

With this initiative, the non-profit association driven by families wants to make itself known to all Murcia and, above all, show the diverse abilities of people with Down syndrome.

For it, they have counted on the collaboration of the City council of Murcia and the Murcian Federation of Athletics, besides different Murcian companies.
