New electrical substation in Murcia (13/02/2018)

The Minister of Employment, Universities and Enterprise, Juan Hernandez, attended today the inauguration of the new 220 kilovolt (kV) electricity substation in Murcia of Red Eléctrica de España, which supplies the current demand in the southern part of the municipality .. Hernández He stressed that with the new substation, which has an initial installed capacity of 100 megavolt (MVA), expandable to 150, it will serve more than 300,000 people.

"The installation will improve the quality of electricity supply in Murcia, as well as the new residential, tertiary and industrial developments that will be consolidated in the future, for which it will be an important engine," he said.

The substation is fed by an underground line of 220 kV double circuit and 8.3 km.

The company's investment was 44.3 million euros, and Iberdrola, through its distribution subsidiary, has allocated more than 5 million euros to the construction and commissioning of the medium-voltage system of 20 kV the substation.
