The UMU promotes technology transfer in the sports sector (12/02/2018)

About fifteen researchers from the University of Murcia presented last Friday at the Social Center the lines of applied research they carry out in relation to the sector of physical activity and sports.

Before an audience made up of companies that work in this field and professionals of diverse origin, among whom were technicians of town halls or teachers of educational centers, they made their latest results known.

The aim of these conferences was to ensure that the knowledge treasured by the research groups of the teaching institution finds its application on the part of the companies and that this contributes to improving their levels of innovation and competitiveness.

Technologies for the evaluation and improvement of physical performance, methodologies for measuring the quality of services and sporting events, programs to improve postural hygiene in children, design and validation of sports equipment or non-invasive techniques to measure the physical and mental stress of Sportsmen are just some of the developments and lines of work that UMU researchers unveiled throughout the day.

In the words of Antonio Montes, director of the Office of Transfer of Research Results (OTRI), organizer of the event, "among the aspects most valued among the businessmen and professionals attending this event is the quality of the research and development that The UMU's activities in this field are especially grateful for the interest and effort made by our institution in bringing them closer to the knowledge generated by our research groups, which encourages us to continue promoting actions aimed at promoting our research results and that this results in in the improvement of our productive fabric and the level of welfare of society ".

These presentations were complemented by numerous conferences from which new issues of current relevance to the sector were addressed, such as the financing of R & D & I activities, how to manage such innovations within organizations or information on the keys and benefits. to incorporate talent (doctors and university graduates) in them.

This action has been developed thanks to the funding of the Campus Mare Nostrum, within the framework of the actions carried out to support technology transfer.
