Now Murcia is the only municipal group that has made proposals to the draft

NOW MURCIA asks that the City Council have the obligation to consult the future Municipal Heritage Council in all the actions that it undertakes related to the historical, cultural or / and ethnographic heritage.

This is one of the proposals that the municipal training has made to the draft of the Regulations of the Sectoral Council of the Municipality of Murcia, which is currently being processed at the request of the Heritage Platform and the municipality's propaganda collectives.

Councilor Alicia Morales emphasizes that "Now Murcia is the only municipal group that has contributed to this process of correction and improvement of the draft," which must be submitted to the next few months by the full committees and then be publicly exposed.

In particular, Now Murcia has submitted additions, corrections and deletions of paragraphs of the draft of the Regulation "to improve the management and operation of the Council and, as a final goal, so that the heritage of the municipality is benefited as much as possible by the work of this future organ".

Among the proposals of Now Murcia are that the ordinary meetings of the Council are quarterly instead of half-yearly, which is what the draft provides;

or that the municipal organ is assigned specifically to the Department of Urbanism.

The municipal training has also proposed measures that aim to improve the organization and management of the Council, for example in the appointments of the organ.

In addition, it is requested that all calls, minutes and documents issued by the Board be public and be posted on the website of the City Council, for the sake of transparency and citizen participation.

Alicia Morales points out that "from Now Murcia we consider that this organization is totally necessary and that it can develop an important work in the protection of heritage, counting on it with the participation of citizens through associations, academies, professional associations, universities, experts and chroniclers , all of them working to give voice to the heritage of the municipality in a collegiate body of the City Council ".
