Martínez-Oliva points out the effort made so that the more than 4,000 suppliers of the City Council collect their bills as soon as possible.
The City of Murcia continues to improve month by month the time it takes to pay the bills.
The suppliers of the City of Murcia charge an average of 17.89 days for their services or products after having invoiced them, according to the data registered at the end of 2017. This indicator supposes a reduction of 15.53% in the payment time registered to end of 2016, which stood at 21.18.
The Councilor for Finance and Recruitment, Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, underlined the joint effort made by the City Council to make possible the reduction of time, which allows the suppliers that work with the Local Administration to have short-term income that correspond to them and, at the same time, translate a positive effect for the effective reactivation of the local economy.
This decrease in terms is a consequence of the liquidity available to the Municipal Treasury, "a fact that allows us not to delay the payment of bills, thus fulfilling a priority objective of the Government Team," said Martínez-Oliva.
