Next Friday, February 9, will be the commemoration of the International Day of women and girls in science in the Region of Murcia at the University Social Center (Campus de Espinardo), from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The inauguration will be in charge of Esperanza Moreno Reventós, General Director of Educational Quality of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports;

Alejandro Díaz Morcillo, Rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena;

Mª Carmen López Aniorte, Vice Chancellor of Social Responsibility, Transparency and Equality at the University of Murcia;

Estrella Núñez Delicado, Vice-Rector of Research of the San Antonio Catholic University;

Juan José Alarcón Cabañero, Director of CEBAS-CSIC;

Luis García Marcos, Deputy Director of the IMIB;

Antonio González Valverde, Director of the Séneca Foundation and Mª Trinidad Herrero Ezquerro, President of Lyceum of Science of the Region of Murcia.

The day will begin with the conference "Science, an amazing trip" by Juan María Vázquez, Secretary General of Science and Innovation of the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness.

It will include testimonies of young researchers from the scientific institutions of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia (CARM) and will conclude with the awards ceremony of scientific women posters made by high school students of the Region of Murcia.

Organized by the Lyceum of Science of the Region of Murcia and the Seneca Foundation, has the collaboration of the Universities of Murcia, Polytechnic of Cartagena and San Antonio Catholic, as well as the Center for Edaphology and Applied Biology of Segura (CEBAS-CSIC) , the Murcian Institute of Biosanitary Research Virgen de la Arrixaca (IMIB), the Murcian Institute for Agricultural Research and Development and Food (IMIDA), the General Directorate of Women and the Ministry of Education of the CARM.

I Conference of Neo-scientific

Woman, Girl and Neuroscience is the title of the First Conference of Neuroscientists, which will be held on the afternoon of February 9 at 3 pm, also at the University Social Center and coordinated by the Spanish Neuroscience Society.

In the day will intervene Maria Trinidad Herrero, who will speak on "Brain of woman-brain of man, Marga Agudo Barriuso, who will talk about" Neuroscientific research: understand our brain "as well as Ana Luisa Gil-Marínez and Lorena Cuenca Bermejo to be referred a "Myths of the brain: true or not?"
