Llano de Brujas warms up for the longest and most international Carnival in history (08/02/2018)

José Ballesta stressed that "this crowd has 180 years of history and opts to be declared of Regional Tourist Interest."

Starting tomorrow, Friday, the streets of the hamlet of Murcia will be dressed in sequins, feathers and glitter.

The streets of the district will be transformed into a private Sambadrome with the presence of 40 shows and comparsas from the Region, Africa and Latin America.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, shared today a day of participation with the residents of different social and associative groups of Llano de Brujas, among which were members of the Carnival Association and the Festival Commission, who informed the mayor about the main novelties of Carnival 2018.

The district warms up to live the longest and most international carnival in its history.

Starting tomorrow, Friday, February 9, the streets of the hamlet of Murcia will be dressed in sequins, feathers and glitter.

Up to 40 parades and shows paraded through the streets of the town in its particular Sambódromo.

'A Carnival that Bewitches', is the slogan chosen to represent the magic of the Carnival of this district, "a multitudinous party with 180 years of history, which chooses to be declared of Regional Tourist Interest", highlighted José Ballesta.

The rest of the neighborhood groups that brought their proposals and ideas for improvement to the mayor are the following: Women's Center, Senior Center, Peña Huertana El Limonar, Peña Huertana la Carreta, Plus Ultra Sports Club and Merchants Association, AMPA CEIP Juan Carlos I School, AMPA IES Poeta Sánchez Bautista, the Brotherhood, Athletics Association, Angelita Dance Academy, Lucia Dance Academy, Kajukenbo Martial Arts, Llano de Brujas Moves Youth Association, New World Association, Poeta Sánchez Bautista Association, Association Neighbors Llano de Brujas.

After the neighborhood meeting, the mayor also visited the facilities of the Juan Carlos I school in the district.

Comparsas from Ecuador, Senegal and Brazil

The Carnival of Llano de Brujas will count this year with comparsas coming from Ecuador, Senegal and Brazil, and also from different points of the Region such as Bacons Bridge, Mula, El Puntal, Beniaján, Javalí Viejo, La Ñora or Murcia capital, which will join to the local comparsas to form a great parade that will be joined by batucadas, floats, live singers, children's shows and the Muses and Muses of Carnival, whose names will be unveiled tomorrow.

The big day of the Carnival will be Sunday, February 18, day of the 'Great Parade of Piñata', which will be the longest and most international in history.

There will also be room for the demands, since the parade will have a show dedicated to the LGBTI Pride and will also actively participate refugees coming from other countries to Spain.

Although this is the central act of the party, the parish will also have another parade on Friday 16, the so-called 'Parade of the Mascot', a parade that will serve as a tribute to the Witch Room, Carnival Mascot, which will be grass of the flames at the end of the holidays.

In addition, the 10th will be the Gala of the Beginning of Carnival, with the Proclamation by Francisco Martínez-Campos, Radio and Autonomous Television of the Region of Murcia.

The Second Edition of the Arenas Bruja's Run, will be held on February 11 with an estimated participation of two thousand people and a tour full of music, fun and lots of color.
