The strike, promoted by feminist collectives from all over the world, seeks to make visible the problems that affect women and to demand real equality.

Councilor Alicia Morales affirms that "from Now Murcia we believe that there is a long way to reach effective equality between men and women and to overcome the macho and patriarchal schemes that still prevail in our society."

For this reason, the municipal training will join "feminist demands for the improvement of working conditions for women, the elimination of the wage gap and the fight against discrimination, the promotion and effective implementation of family reconciliation measures, the demand for resources for the fight against sexual harassment and against the scourge of sexist violence ".

"From now Murcia understand that public institutions must be strongly involved in the vindication of women," he adds, "and therefore has submitted a motion for the City of Murcia to support this strike and take all necessary measures to facilitate participation in she".

This strike aims to overwhelm the traditional strike and proposes, together with a work stoppage, a student, consumer and care stoppage.

"From Now Murcia we encourage all women and men of the municipality to join the mobilization, we know that if women stop, the world stops".
