The Tercios fall to the unbeatable AS Monaco (31/01/2018)

The UCAM Murcia was presented in Monegasque territory with a clear objective in mind: to take second place in Group A of the Basketball Champions League and manifest their great form before the AS Monaco, leader of group A and undefeated so far.

Those of Ibon Navarro, mathematically classified to play the knockout stages of the competition, came down to the meeting after confirming the losses of Ovie Soko, Brad Oleson and Lukovic.

However, the Tercios would demonstrate, once again, their worth in adverse circumstances.

The encounter began with a high intensity on the part of both equipment that showed their great offensive capacity.

Kikanovic had predicted that it would be the main annoyance against the university students (4-3).

Attempts to curb AS Monaco saw results thanks to the defensive pressure exerted by Delia and Tumba. Hannah, on the other hand, showed her authority in the game by reaffirming her great track performance.

Kikanovic, main standard of the Monegasque team continued to hamper the work of Murcia.

Delia, on the other hand, was in charge of reducing the local advantage (18-15).

Paulativamente the turnovers of the university students began to make a dent.

However, Benite with two consecutive triples restored the confidence of Ibon Navarro.

Tumba took pace while Hannah showed her authority on track scoring with admirable ease from the line of three and putting her team ahead (27-28).

Sadiel showed his seniority in the game by helping his team with his rhythm.

It was at halftime with Gladyr and Evans taking advantage of the Murcia turnovers overtaking the home side again (41-35).

After the break, Kikanovic continued to roam the track at ease, scoring each time the ball reached his hands.

The personal fouls caused the match to lose pace.

A sensational triple of Lacombe extended the difference of the Monegasque set that little by little showed signs of their supremacy (46-35).

Ibon Navarro asked his team more intensity in the game after seeing how the local difference captained by Kikanovic (52-37) increased.

The UCAM Murcia was going through a difficult time despite the great performance of Benite trying to put the whole in the game after an unsportsmanlike Gladyr.

The triples revived the university students who little by little came up (55-48).

The Americans of AS Monaco led by Evans gained prominence and again, made a dent in those of Ibon Navarro who reached the last quarter with a difference of fifteen in the light.

The beginning of the last period brought with it new possibilities for the Murcian team involved in the attack.

Again the effectiveness of Kikanovic and penetrations difficult to stop damaged the UCAM Murcia (67-54).

The triples of Urtasun and Benite placed the college students in a position to continue fighting for the game.

However, the turnovers of these sentenced little by little the meeting that gradually complicated for those of Ibon Navarro.

Robinson and Evans were again responsible for increasing the local difference (76-64).

With three minutes to go and a difference of ten on the scoreboard, the Monegasque team condemned UCAM Murcia thanks to the effectiveness of their insights.

Despite the disadvantage, the Murcian team fought until the end showing great offensive intensity starring Sadiel Rojas and Urtasun (83-75).
