"When the river does not sound ..." (31/01/2018)

The Puertas de Castilla Center hosts the exhibition 'When the river does not sound ...', made by students of the University of Murcia, which opens on Thursday, February 1 at 8:00 pm and will remain open to the public until May 12. April.

It is an expositional proposal of the students of the Master in Production and Artistic Management of the University of Murcia.

The artists participating in the exhibition are Lourdes Angosto, Claudio Babtan, María Bernal, Joaquín Martínez Berenguel, Tamara Cuasapaz, Nuria Espinosa, Amber

Kay, Alexandra Michael, Pablo Nortes Sánchez and Maya Sasheva.

The exhibition is curated by Andrea Aroca and Claudio Babtan, and coordinated by Amber Kay, under the direction of the professor of the teaching institution, Antonio José García Cano, and Jesús de la Peña, director of the Puertas de Castilla Center.

After the introduction to the topic of climate change and water in the Region of Murcia from the hands of Professor Antonio José García Cano, the students have carried out their own research prior to developing their artistic proposals.

"Before the imminent consequences of climate change, 'When the river does not sound ...' is an invitation to become aware of the effects that climate change has on the water of our region, as well as to reflect on this much-needed good and on the responsibility of our society for generations to come ", comments Antonio García Cano.

The artists, through their works propose solutions, hypothetical situations and reflections on this relevant topic, through a dialogue will use various artistic media, from drawing and photography to installation and performance.
