Guillén: "While we conclude the pruning and removal of oranges in 20 districts, the PSOE continues to deceive the Murcians" (30/01/2018)

The head of the Department of Modernization of the Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, José Guillen has responded this afternoon to the socialist Juan Vicente Larrosa about the cleaning and removal of oranges in the trees of the municipality of Murcia.

"From the Socialist Party is again trying to discriminate the districts of Murcia with nonsense arguments.

It is inconceivable that it is intended to deceive the neighbors of the municipality with something as simple to check as out on the streets.

I encourage Mr. Larrosa to walk through the districts and check the healthy state of the trees, beyond the parks and gardens of the city center, "the councilor explained.

"Well, today we have finished the pruning works in Cobatillas, Casillas, Monteagudo, Rincón de Seca, Rincón de Beniscornia, Puebla de Soto, La Raya, Nonduermas, Patiño, Valladolises and Alquerías.

To these districts we must add those of Beniaján, Cabezo de Torres, Algezares and Lobosillo, where the workers are pruning these days.

Once the works are finished there will be the turn of El Raal, Santa Cruz, Los Ramos, La Arboleja and La Albatalía ".

"Through the Park and Garden Service, the pruning and removal of oranges from the 13,210 orange trees planted in neighborhoods and districts of Murcia is being carried out.

We have a score of workers who are working for three months in the withdrawal of more than 465 tons of oranges in the trees. "

Guillén recalled that this pruning seeks to achieve "is to avoid accidents by the fall of oranges, thus ensuring the safety of pedestrians, improve the cleanliness of public spaces and that trees grow well distributed thus offering greater shade."

The councilor concluded by noting that "in addition to this pruning, the Park and Garden Service carries out numerous reviews and actions throughout the year to eliminate any problem that affects the tree and its development."
