The Flamenco Summit celebrates its XXV edition with first class figures and different novelties (29/01/2018)

Murcia will host from 9 to 18 February the 25th edition of the Flemish summit of Murcia that will feature top-level figures, such as Lole Montoya, Paco Montalvo and Manuel Lombo, and various new features such as flamenco appetizers and a children's show.

The Councilor for Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesus Pacheco, has presented this new edition with the director of the Dance Company of Murcia;

Lole Montoya, the author of the poster Esteban Bernal and the person in charge of the festival, Antonio Parra.

The festival will open its program with the Compañía Murciana de Danza with 'Romeo y Julieta', on 9 February at 9 pm at the Teatro Romea, a particular version in a flamenco ballet based on the work of Shakespeare.

The next day, on February 10, it will be the turn of Lole Montoya with 'Unforgettable Sinatra', at 9:00 pm at Romea.

One of the most prodigious voices of the country will surprise with this show being alone with the arrangements of a piano or a jazz quartet and giving a new twist to the repertoire of Frank Sinatra.

Paco Montalvo will offer songs from his two albums 'Alma de violín flamenco' and his 'Corazón flamenco' on February 16, at 9:00 pm at the Romea Theater.

Considered the best Spanish violinist and one of the best in the world, Montalvo will offer his version of great works by classic Spanish composers such as Albéniz, Granados and Sarasate, along with themes by Paco de Lucía and universal and popular flamenco songs.

The Circus Theater will be the scene of recital of Manuel Lombo 'Origen & Lomboxbambino' on February 17, also at 9:00 p.m.

Manuel Lombo, one of the greatest exponents of the Spanish flamenco song, after great successes with his 5 previously published albums, presents songs from his 'Orígen' and his new work, 'Lombo X Bambino', in which he remembers and pays tribute to the figure and the songs of a revolutionary artist such as Miguel Vargas Jiménez, Bambino.

One of the novelties of this edition will arrive on February 18 with Flamencos around the world and its show aimed at the little ones 'La Sirenita Entre Mares Andaluces', which will take place at the Teatro Circo at 6 pm.

Tickets for all these concerts are now on sale at the ticket offices of the two municipal theaters.

the Cloister of the San Esteban Palace (Óscar Zoilo and Irene Carrión on February 15) and the Plaza de las Flores (Nieves Molina on February 16).

All these concerts will start at 1pm.
