The PSOE calls for the resignation of Ortiz and announces that it will go to the Prosecutor's Office to investigate if his statements are constitutive of crime (18/01/2018)

The Municipal Socialist Group understands that after the statements released today by the head of Development, "today should be the last day of Roque Ortiz as councilman of this City Council," said the spokeswoman, Susana Hernandez, who also announced to bring these events to the Prosecutor Check if they are constituting a crime.

Ortiz, during a meeting with parents of the PP, said "do not forget the people who work in the concessionaires, do not forget the people to whom we have got a job." All this, do not forget "

Hernández adds that "we consider that he should resign voluntarily, demonstrating ethics and respecting the institution he represents."

Also, he declares that "the mayor Ballesta at this time should have already asked for his resignation and, if he does not do so voluntarily, he should be dismissed so that he can no longer be a councilor of the Government immediately."

Similarly, the Socialist spokesman said that "these statements put Ballesta in a very delicate situation also because we must explain what was his presence and involvement in this meeting."

Therefore, Hernandez has announced that the Socialist Group has convened all opposition groups to adopt some joint policy measure, as a meeting to the Board of Spokesmen to request a commission of investigation and debug responsibilities as these statements by Ortiz they demonstrate a habitual practice of the Popular Group during these 23 years of Government ".

"Ballesta has the opportunity to demonstrate that his way of governing is different from the previous one of the PP, and he should do so forcefully to disengage from these habitual practices, although he is demonstrating that, with the statements of Roque Ortiz, in these two years and mayor, has continued with this practice, "he says.

In addition to the commission of investigation, the PSOE is going to transfer to the Prosecutor's Office a complaint with the audios to find out "if these statements are constitutive of one or several crimes of corruption," concludes the Socialist spokeswoman.
