The Councilor for Education, Relationship with Universities and Heritage of the City of Murcia, Rafael Gómez, accompanied this morning to school children of 4 and 5 years of the CEIP José Loustau in conducting the workshop "Tradiciones Huertanas" that has been carried out in the Federation of Peñas Huertanas of the municipality.

Until the month of May students from 35 schools will visit the facilities to get closer to the history of Murcia.

An activity "that aims to know, promote and maintain the culture and folklore of the Region of Murcia through a visit that favors the participation in the activities, awakening the curiosity to understand our history and customs."

After receiving the students at the door of the Peñas Huertanas Federation and explaining the content of the visit, they have been divided into small groups and have begun to rotate through the different activities planned:

- Recognition of typical foods of the earth and its name in "huertano".

- Collect some food already planted and then sow in the garden using the appropriate tools.

- Interactive games to know the regional costume.

- Practice of typical games huertanos bolos, petanque, caliche ...

- Individually they will plant a pot that they will take as a souvenir.
