On Tuesday, January 16, at 12 o'clock, the book "Huerta de Murcia: towards a sustainable and resilient agropolitan system" will be presented in the Assembly Hall of the Molinos del Río Segura, in an act that will be chaired by the Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, and in which the authors will intervene: the professor of the University of Murcia José María Egea Fernández, and José María Egea Sánchez.
The volume consists of a preamble, which justifies the opportunity thereof, and two large blocks of chapters.
The first briefly discusses the problems generated by the expansion of large cities on the agricultural space and the agroecological proposals to address them.
The second block considers the construction and transformation of the garden over time, the role of the garden to face the main environmental and food challenges of the 21st century and, consequently, the need to recover and conserve it.
Finally, some proposals for its management and conservation are analyzed, as well as the need to implement a strategy that transforms the Metropolitan Area of ​​Murcia into a system.
