Next 18th of January at 18:00 h will take place the IV session of the cinephórum, "Science on the big screen", organized by the University of Murcia in Café de Ficciones.
On this occasion will be screened 'Death among the flowers', an adaptation of the graphic novel 'The Glass Key', written by Dashiell Hammet.
The film, which brings together all the characteristics of black cinema, situates the conflict in the year 1929, during the dry law, between two friends because of the love of a woman.
Leo, a gangster who dominates the city, and Tom, his lieutenant, confront each other in an open war that will unleash treasons, political conflicts, corruption and internal divisions.
After the film, Aurelio Luna Maldonado, Professor at the University of Murcia in the Department of Sociosanitarias Sciences and principal investigator of the Legal Medicine and Toxicology group, will present the background of the film and deepen on the Victimological and Criminological Sciences.
With this initiative, the Scientific Culture Unit (UCC) of the UMU's Vice-rectorate for Communication and Culture wants to continue promoting and bringing scientific culture closer to society as a whole and, to this end, it will continue to count on several researchers from the University of Murcia, specialized in the selected subjects.
