Cambiemos Murcia has presented at the City Hall a proposal to design the new Regulation for Citizen Participation that includes specific deadlines and measures, such as dissemination through the media and public information days on initiatives developed in other municipalities.
The spokesman of the Municipal Education Coordinator and Participation expert, Carlos Egio, explained that the new regulation "can not be the result of an improvised decision", but must obey a transparent process in which citizen contributions are the true protagonists, since "it does not make sense to elaborate behind closed doors a norm that what it tries is to promote the participation".
"For the Municipal Boards to be truly spaces that allow the participation of citizens in the management of the municipality, it is necessary that they be endowed with real powers and administrative resources; therefore, the modification of the Regulation that regulates them can not be minimum, "he explained.
"We plan to open three routes for the collection of proposals with interviews and meetings with experts and associations at the municipal level, open face-to-face meetings in each neighborhood and physical and digital mailboxes," added Egio, who explained that with all the information collected the working group would prepare a draft to which allegations could be made.
"To dismiss a proposal should be explained reasonably why," he concluded.
