The municipal boards of districts disposed of 8.2 million euros last year for investments and to maintain public services (12/01/2018)

Guillén: 'Reaching almost 100% of budget execution of current spending shows the absolute commitment of the presidents and members to the welfare of their neighbors and their responsibility in the co-government of the municipality.'

Next Monday begins the new Pediatric Care Office that will be in charge of facilitating the daily work of the municipal boards of neighborhoods and districts.

The municipal boards of parishes reached a budgetary execution of 98.57% of current expenditure, which meant an expenditure of 5.2 million euros, while in the case of neighborhoods, the average reached was 91.6% and 724,130 euros

These data, released today by the Councilor for Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation, José Guillén, indicate the high level of management carried out by the 59 municipal boards of districts and the 8 in the city, highlighting 'the high commitment of the municipal boards with the welfare of their neighbors. '

Apart from current expenditure, essential to maintain the quality of public services, the municipal boards made investments amounting to 3,096,000 euros, while having 3.8 million euros more to spend in 2018 from last year's budget , that could not finance actions due to the delay in the approval of the City Council budget.

This will be possible because, with the aim of not losing these funds, the Government Team approved an administrative modification so that each parish can spend that money this year, preventing it from being lost.

To be able to execute these investments, the technical decentralization office directed a total of 39 works in 2017 and attended 135 requests for the valuation of studies and projects.

Regarding the political activity carried out by the municipal councils, the accomplishment of 512 plenaries stands out, with 1,492 motions presented, of which 1,030 were approved.

On the other hand, next Monday will begin to operate the new Pediatric Care Office, whose objective is to facilitate the daily work of the municipal boards and the presidents and presidents of the same, helping and informing about the day-to-day efforts between the different services and councils.

Located on the second floor of the Saavedra Fajardo building -access through the Plaza de Europa-, next to the dependencies of the Decentralization service, its implementation is the result of an agreement reached by PP and PSOE for the approval of the 2017 Municipal Budgets. It will be attended by two people, from 9 to 14 hours.

José Guillén explained that with the creation of this unique office 'we intend to further reduce the time spent in administrative processes and facilitate access to all the necessary information from the different municipal areas'.

"Our goal is that the neighborhood councils can meet the demands of their neighbors in a more efficient and agile, also facilitating the completion of procedures before the administration," added Guillén.

This is one of the actions included in the package of measures to promote: citizen participation and co-government of the city through the municipal boards;

the impulse to the decentralization and the support to the pedáneos.
