Sports facilitates the free use of the municipal football fields for all the lower categories of the clubs (11/01/2018)

The municipal commission integrated by all the political groups agreed to change the management of these facilities, which is now fully assumed by the City Council, with a maintenance cost of 1.3 million euros.

After the last call for the reserve of football fields, the Department of Sports and Health subsidizes this season 751,000 euros and has turned provisional settlements to the senior categories of clubs for a total amount of 66,000 euros, which could be reduced if they attend the next call for grants.

This season the new model of management of the municipal football fields has been put into operation, in compliance with the agreement adopted by the research commission that was created in 2015 to analyze the use of these facilities.

Among the conclusions reached after these meetings, attended by representatives of all political groups, was the economic exploitation of them, according to public prices of the City Council.

In addition, the commission valued a change in the management of facilities that also provided for the hiring of janitors -all the fields have this employee-, the concession of canteens by public participation -18 have already been awarded and 6 were deserted, so that will be re-tendered-, and the management and direct supervision by the Department of Sports of the use of these facilities, being expressly prohibited the cession to third parties by the municipal boards.

As a result of all this, and after assuming this service the Department of Sports and Health, the City has convened and resolved the contests for the maintenance and cleaning of football fields, whose cost exceeds 1.3 million euros.

Thus, the management mode of football fields is equated to that which exists in the remaining sports facilities of the municipal network.

In compliance with the agreement of the commission of inquiry regarding the economic exploitation of these facilities, the Department has turned to the federated teams a provisional settlement for the rent of the same for training on weekdays, being exempt from payment its use weekends.

The cost falls exclusively in the senior category, while the rest (prebenjamín, benjamín, alevín, infantil, cadet and juvenile) have a bonus of 100%, so the rent will be free.

In this way, and after presenting 57 clubs to the public call for the reservation of facilities, the City has rewarded 751,635 euros of the rental price and has rotated provisionally a settlement of 66,0000 euros.

The final quota of each team will not be known until those responsible do not inform the City Council of their calendar for this season, which will allow knowing the use they plan to make of the installation.

In any case, the clubs will have the option of attending the next call for grants that will take place in the near future, so that they will be able to further reduce the price they will have to pay for the rent.

Some of them have already received grants in the 2016 call, such as the CD La Alberca, CAP Ciudad de Murcia, Club Atlético Cabezo de Torres, CD Plus Ultra de Llano de Brujas and Club de Fútbol El Progreso.
